Mehdi Niarad was born in 1954 in Tehran, the capital of Iran.
He was very lively and energetic, full of dreams and dreamy images, as if he were wandering in another romantic world.
Every day, he would listen to his aunt’s stories for several hours and dream and imagine what he heard with all his heart.
In the mornings, when the sun had not yet risen and everyone was asleep, he would stare at the dew on the window glass opposite and see many images, like television, that resembled the stories he had heard, and the movement of the dew made the image appear animated. He often liked to wake up at that hour and see the images. One of his paintings, called Childhood Dream, can be said to be a reflection of those scenes.
He was introduced to black pencil drawing at the age of ten. He started working with oil paints at the age of thirteen. He has continued to paint for about sixty years. Although major galleries such as Agora in New York and Asia Gallery in Singapore and other galleries invited him, he has not accepted to this day. This is the first time that a part of his works is presented on this site.
